Landscape Design in Winter Springs
We plan yards around how you use them and what will actually grow there. You get a drawn layout, a plant list sized for each spot, and a written estimate before anyone digs. If a storm took out part of your yard, we document it first.
A plan before the plants
Landscape design is the step before installation. We walk your property and look at sun, shade, drainage and what is already growing. Then we draw a plan for beds, plants, lawn areas and any patio or walkway. You see the whole yard on paper and can change it there, where changes cost nothing.
It is the right call when you are starting over. That might be a new home with bare dirt, a yard that lost trees in a storm, or beds that have stayed thin for years. It also helps if you want to spread the work over a few seasons and need each piece to fit the next.
We are a family-owned business, licensed and fully insured. The same people who draw your plan can build it, along with the sod installation, irrigation and hardscape installation it calls for.
What the design work covers
Walkthrough and measurements
We measure beds, lawn and hard surfaces and check how sun moves across the yard. We note where water sits after rain. We also flag roots, utility lines and sprinkler heads that limit where things can go.
Soil and drainage check
Most yards in Central Florida sit on fast-draining sand that holds few nutrients. We plan soil amendments, bed edges and grading so plants get a fair start and rain moves away from your home instead of pooling against it.
Plants picked for the spot
Full-sun beds get heat-tolerant shrubs and grasses. Shady corners get plants that won't stretch and thin out. We size each plant for how big it gets, so you are not cutting it back every month.
Scaled layout drawing
The drawing shows bed shapes, plant spacing, lawn edges, paths and spots for lighting. A plant list with quantities comes with it.
Irrigation and hardscape fit
We mark where sprinkler zones need to change and where pavers, borders or low walls belong. That way the plan lines up with the work that follows.
Line-item estimate
Every plant, material and labor piece is listed. You can see what each area costs and decide what to do now and what to save for later.

Signs your yard needs a new plan
- A storm took out trees or shrubs
- When a big tree comes down, its shade goes with it. The plants that lived under it often scorch. The space needs a new plan, not just a replacement shrub.
- Beds that stay thin and patchy
- Plants that stay sparse or keep dying are usually in the wrong light or soil. Replanting the same thing gets the same result.
- Water standing near the house
- Puddles that sit after afternoon rain mean the grading or bed edges are working against you. Design is where that gets sorted out.
- Foundation shrubs swallowing windows
- Shrubs that cover windows or rub the walls were planted too close or picked too big. We swap them for plants that stay in scale.
- A new home with a bare yard
- Builder landscaping is often a row of shrubs and some sod. A plan lets you build out the rest in a sensible order.
How a design job runs
- 1
Free walkthrough
We walk the yard with you. You tell us how you use the space, what you like and what bugs you. If storm damage is part of the story, we photograph and note what was lost before anything gets cleared.
- 2
Draft plan and review
We come back with a drawing and plant list and go over it with you. We adjust it until it fits your taste and your budget.
- 3
Written estimate
You get a line-item estimate. If the work ties to an insurance claim, you get a copy plus our photos to share with your adjuster. We explain what we saw, but your insurer decides what is covered.
- 4
Install day
The crew marks beds, pulls old plants, works in soil amendments and plants to the drawing. We lay down protection on walkways, keep heavy equipment off the lawn where we can, and haul debris away before we leave.
What moves the price
Cost comes down to how much of the yard the plan covers and how much it takes to build it. A front bed refresh is a small job. A full back yard with a patio and new sprinkler zones is a big one. We price it in writing after we have walked the property.
- Size of the area
- More square footage means more plants, more soil and more labor. Many people start with the front yard and add the back later.
- Plant size at planting
- Larger shrubs and trees cost more but look finished sooner. Smaller ones cost less and grow into their space over a couple of seasons. We can mix both.
- Removal and site prep
- Old shrubs, roots and stumps have to come out before anything goes in. Stump grinding, grading or hauling storm debris adds time.
- Hardscape and irrigation changes
- Pavers, borders and walls add material and labor. So does moving or adding sprinkler zones to match new beds.
Landscape design questions
- Will homeowners insurance pay to replant after a storm?
- Sometimes, partly, and often for less than people expect. Many policies limit what they pay for trees and shrubs, or only cover certain causes of damage. We are not your adjuster and can't tell you what your policy covers. What we can do is photograph the damage, write up what it takes to restore the yard, and hand you that paperwork for your claim.
- Can you install the plan too?
- Yes. Our crews install what we design, including beds, sod, irrigation changes and hardscape. Keeping it with one company means nobody has to guess what the drawing meant.
- Can we do the work in phases?
- Yes, and the plan is built for it. We mark which areas make sense to do first, usually drainage, removals and anything that needs heavy equipment. Planting and finishing work can follow when you are ready.
- Do you offer financing?
- Yes. Financing goes up to $100,000, with 2–12-year terms and no prepayment penalties. Ask about it during the walkthrough and we'll show you how it lines up with your estimate.
- How much watering will new plants need?
- New plants need extra water for the first several weeks while roots settle into the sand. After that, the plants we choose should get by on a normal irrigation schedule. We will tell you how much to water and can set your zones to match.
